Weekly Reflections

Each week, I’ll share classroom reflections, strategies, and wins, because teaching is a journey worth reflecting on.

Creative EdHub Weekly Reflection — Week 2: Following the Hard Path

Date: 13 October 2025

This past week was one of the hardest I’ve had in a while. I didn’t post a reflection last week because, truthfully, I was mentally exhausted. I was sitting with a decision that felt too big to rush. Do I stay at my current school and step into the role of PLC Leader in 2026, or do I move to a new school closer to my partner?

When the offer came, I felt proud. It was something I had worked hard for and dreamed about. But pride was quickly followed by uncertainty. The thought of putting my personal plans on hold for another year left me torn. I was anxious about the idea of change, a new school, new faces, and the weight of leadership.

Through all of this, my partner’s support never wavered. He believed in me, even when I doubted myself. He wanted me to take the opportunity, knowing how much it meant for my career and my goals. His willingness to put my dreams before convenience was one of the most touching and selfless things I’ve ever experienced.

After a quiet moment of reflection and a heartfelt conversation with him, I realised what I truly wanted. I needed to follow my dreams, even if it felt uncomfortable or unfamiliar. Stability played its part too. I already have an ongoing position where I am, and that security gave me the courage to keep building where I’ve started.

What I’ve learned through this is simple, yet powerful. Sometimes it’s okay to put yourself first. That doesn’t mean you’re selfish; it means you’re honouring the goals that make you come alive. I’m proud of myself for choosing growth, even when it felt hard.

To every teacher reading this, remember that it’s okay to follow your dreams. A healthy work-life balance is essential for your wellbeing, and surrounding yourself with people who believe in you makes all the difference. Trust yourself, even when it feels uneasy. The people who love you will cheer you on every step of the way. 💙

💭 Reflection Prompt:
What’s one dream or goal you’ve been putting on hold? Take a moment to reflect on what’s stopping you and what might happen if you finally said yes.

Creative EdHub Weekly Reflection — Week 1: A Fresh Start

Date: 6 October 2025

A Fresh Start: Building, Believing, Becoming

The school holidays gave me time to pause, breathe, and create. While I’ve loved the quiet moments, I’m eager to see my students again. I’ve missed their laughter, their questions, and that little spark that fills the classroom when we’re learning together.

Over the break, I surprised myself. I started this very blog, built the Instagram page, and spent hours designing the Creative EdHub Assessment Tracker. Each night, I sat down with a plan and actually followed through on it. Bit by bit, I began to see everything come to life: the brand, the tools, and the purpose behind it all.

I never imagined I could build something like this on my own, yet here it is, a growing space for teachers to connect, reflect, and be inspired. Creative EdHub is becoming exactly what I dreamed of, a community where creativity meets classroom reality.

This week, as we step back into our classrooms, I want to remind every teacher of this:
💭 You are capable of more than you realise.
Every idea starts small, every spark matters, and every bit of effort adds up to something extraordinary.

If you’re feeling inspired, take a moment to jot down your own reflection, maybe a creative spark you noticed, an activity that lit up your students, or a reminder of why you love teaching.

Let’s make reflection part of our routine, one creative spark at a time.
